Emergency Action Plan

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION:

A phone is located in the main Physical Education Office on the desk. This phone can be used in case of an emergency. Another phone is located inside the concession right outside the main gym doors.

EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT:

AED is located in the main school office. Fire extinguishers are located inside the maintenance offices in the gym, down the hallway to the east of the gym and down the hallway to the north of the gym. First Aid Kits are located in the gym and in the main office.

AMBULANCE ACCESS:

Primary Entrance - Park on the south side of the gym. Building access is through the south doors to the gym. Secondary Entrance - Park on the west side of the gym and enter through the doors.

FIRE TRUCK ACCESS:

Park on the south side of the building outside the main gym doors. Fire Exits: Exit the building through the marked exit shown on the map in consideration of your current location.

EMERGENCY PERSONNEL:

  • Charge Person - Team Coaches
  • Call Person - Assistant Coaches or person from Host Team
  • Control Person - Assistant Coaches or person from Host Team
  • Gopher - Whomever is chosen

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE:

1. Assess Situation
2. Immediate care of the injured or ill athlete from the Charge Person (Coach)
3. Emergency equipment retrieval (Gopher)
4. Activating the EMS (Call Person)
5. Directing of EMS to scene (Control Person) a. Designate individual to flag down EMS and direct to scene and open appropriate doors. b. Scene Control: Limit scene to First Aid providers and move bystanders away from area.
