ASAAWeCoach.ca - Online Coach Education courses

ASAA has launched it's online coach education program at www.ASAAWeCoach.ca.There are currently seven courses available, with more expected in the coming school year. Click on the link above or contact Mike at the ASAA for more information!

The ASAA, along with ASRPWF, is offering a $50 rebate for coaches who complete online coach education courses at www.ASAAWeCoach.ca. To access this you will need to purchase an eligible course (Fundamentals of Coaching, Athletic Injury Management) and complete the course prior to filling out the ACEV form (click here to access form). Once you have completed the course and sent the completed form in you will be issued a $50 rebate cheque. Any inquiries can be directed to michael@asaa.ca.

Sportsmanship PSA's available

The ASAA, CSSF, and the NFHS have supplied Public Service Announcements (PSA's) for schools to use in promoting sportsmanship and athletics. We encourage you to use the PSA's as a tool to enhance sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity while supporting school athletics with academics. To view PSA's click here.

Cyber Bullying

Is cyber bullying an issue in your school? In a Canadian Teachers’ Federation poll in 2008, 34% of respondents knew of students in their community who had been cyber bullied in the past year. Given the close relationship and mutual respect that is often forged between school athletic coaches and high school students, athletic leaders are in a position to be aware of and to help address issues like cyber bullying, hazing and other matters that can negatively impact the life of a young person. Banner template available for schools

The ASAA often gets requests from schools to be able to purchase banners for their teams that went to provincials. The executive and board of governors have approved a banner template design and cases where schools can order these banners. Click here for the complete information.

There is limited flexibility for school sport and other school groups entering the US by land or sea. Please review this document if you are planning to enter the US with your school team.
