Modifications to Season

The ASAA board has granted the Executive Committee the authority (with majority zone approval) to modify seasons of play. As per the ASAA’s August 13th release, all fall championships including Golf have been postponed until a point where GoA guidelines permit them.

On August 11th it was announced that the start of the Season of Play has been delayed to September 1, 2020.

Modifications to Event Format

In a survey to ASAA member school principals, ADs, and coaches, the mandate was clear that our membership does not want to see wholesale changes to any sports. However in the context of golf, the following minor adjustments can be considered locally and are being considered at the provincial level.

• No spectators on the course
• No removal of pin when putting
• No shotgun start - stagger tee times.
• Other modifications as prescribed locally and by the PSO

In-School Safety Protocols

No sharing of golf clubs/equipment. Follow local course directives on safe play and practice.

Strategies to stay engaged in Golf in your school

Golf teams should be able to practice locally as normal, provided physical distancing (2m) is upheld and all provincial guidelines are followed.
