It’s #XCweek (sort of!). In a normal year teams from across the province would be busy this week preparing to run their hearts out this upcoming Saturday in Red Deer at ASAA Cross Country Provincials.

Unfortunately we are not in a normal year - and we still don’t know when the 2020-21 Provincial Cross Country Championships are going to take place - but that shouldn’t stop us from commemorating this great sport before the weather turns on us.
Here are just some ways you can stay connected to our awesome sport as we navigate these uncertain times.

1. Relive last year’s championship by watching on our YouTube channel!
2. Get out for a run with your team this week and post pictures/videos on social media. Make sure to use the hashtag #ASAAXC and tag @ASAA on Twitter and @ASAAprovs on Instagram! (Remember to maintain physical distance).
3. Use your favourite app to track an activity from this Friday, October 16th to Saturday October 17th and submit your run to us here. We’ll recognize the schools with the most distance run and the biggest elevation gains with some sweet ASAA Swag.

This isn’t how we imagined we’d be spending this weekend when we wrapped up down in Medicine Hat last fall, and we can’t wait to get back out there with all of you very soon - in the meantime please remember to practice physical distancing and wear a mask. Together we’ll get through this.
