VIRTUAL Unified Bean Bag Toss Contest!

Are you ready to #PlayUnified? Grab your Unified teammate and join the virutal Unified Bean Bag Toss Contest from now until February 25, 2021.

Who can Play?

  • Each team is made up of one athlete (student with intellectual disability) and one partner (student without an intellectual disability).
  • There is no maximum number of teams that a school can enter.


  • This contest runs from January 28, 2021, to February 25, 2021.
  • Participants must follow all COVID-19 rules from the GoA, AHS, and their school jurisdiction.
  • Teams do not need to be at school to participate.
  • Teams may enter more than once to try and get a higher score.
  • All pictures and videos that are submitted may be shared by the ASAA and Special Olympics Alberta on their respective social media platforms, websites, and publications.

Set Up

  • Set up your bean bag toss game or make one out of whatever you have available (e.g. an empty bucket and some rolled up socks).
  • Stand at least 12 feet away from your board.
  • Set a timer for 30 seconds and ask someone to record your attempt.

How to Play

  • The goal is to sink as many bean bags as you can in 30 seconds, then have your partner do the same.
  • Once both teammates have had their turn:
    • Add up the total number of shots that were sunk by both teammates.
    • Upload your video(s) to Instagram or TikTok.
    • Tag @ASAAProvs, use #PlayUnifiedAlberta, and put the total number of shots sunk by both teammates in the caption.


  • The team that sinks the highest number of shots by noon on February 25, 2021, will be sent a prize pack of Unified Sports swag.
  • The winning team will be announced online by March 4, 2021.
  • All shot attempts must be visible in the video submission in order to be eligible to win the prize.
  • Only participants in ASAA member high schools are eligible to win a prize.
