Message from Norm Martin, Principal, Bishop Grandin High School
On behalf of Bishop Grandin High School, it is an honour and privilege to be hosting the Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association 2017 Provincial Wrestling Championship. To begin, we want to welcome the competitors, coaches, trainers, officials, and volunteers who will be participating in this year’s two-day event. We also want to welcome all parents and fans who will be watching the matches with great interest and excitement. As a school that offers “Something Extraordinary for Every Student”, we sincerely hope that this competition will be an engaging experience that will be cherished for years to come for our athletes.

For each competitor, the Provincial Championship represents an end goal after many hours of practice, skill development, difficult matches, and true perseverance. We admire your commitment and dedication to a sport that requires stamina, strength, and agility. Although, we will be witness to many intense and competitive matches over these two days, we want to emphasize the importance of humility, respect, integrity, fair play, and good sportsmanship.

A special thanks to the organizers and volunteers for dedicating your time and expertise in organizing this wrestling meet for the athletes who will be participating from all areas of the province.
