Former Edmonton Coach and City Councillor Passes Away at 78

With a heavy heart we share the news of Bryan Anderson’s passing.

Bryan was a dedicated coach and advocate for high school sport. Beyond his career as a high school teacher and coach, Bryan was a city councillor for 19 years and and was responsible for helping ensure the development of many new sport facilities across Edmonton. His contributions are countless and the impact he’s had on the lives of student athletes is immeasurable.

DELAYED - Coaching School Sport: Redefining Winning

As a requirement for ASAA Member School Registration in the SRS, registrants are asked to attest that at least one staff member at this school has completed the “Coaching School Sport: Redefining Winning” course from http://thelocker.coach.ca as required under ASAA policy OR that this school is exempt from this requirement by virtue of being a distance education/outreach school.

The Safe Return to High School Athletics

The Safe Return to High School Athletics guide was developed by the ASAA as a useful summary of COVID-19 related guidelines on school sport and ASAA’s recommendations for a safe return to athletics in the school setting.

August 13 Update - Postponement of Fall Provincial Championships

August 11 Update to ASAA Fall Seasons of Play

The start date for the season of play for the sports of golf, cross country, and football have been adjusted from August 16th to September 1st for the 2020-21 school year. At this time, the start of the volleyball season of play will remain the first operational day of classes. The cheer season remains the same, with season of play starting on September 1st.

From September 1st and onward, only in-school practices are permitted.
