Message from Bill Schlacht, Principal, Bev Facey High School
On behalf of the staff, students, and parents at Bev Facey High School, it is my pleasure to welcome the athletes, parents, coaches and fans to the Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association 2016 Provincial Wrestling Championship. We hope that you enjoy your stay in Sherwood Park and have an opportunity to see our community. We are pleased to have you join us as we celebrate high school wrestling together.
It is an honour to host student athletes, their families, and coaches from across our province as they experience high level competition with other Albertans. Our student athletes have shown commitment and dedication as they worked hard to be ready for this level of competition. Although the goal is to win our matches, we all will win by participating in such a wonderful event. Enjoy your wrestling experience and take this opportunity to build new relationships with athletes from other schools.
I want to thank the athletes for the hard work in preparing for this tournament, the coaches for their time and dedication to their athletes, families for their support of the athletes and the program, and the volunteers involved in putting this event together. This event is a huge undertaking and it takes the whole team to make it a success. Thank you for your support.
I am looking forward to spending the next two days watching some great wrestling and meeting many wonderful people. We wish you all the best with your competition.
