Proud Moments for all Athletes in the Paralympic Cross Country Event

On October 15th, 2016, seven athletes took part in the para race in the ASAA Cross Country Provincial Championships. The ASAA is not only proud to offer para categories in two different provincial championships (Cross Country and Track and Field), but excited to see the popularity of the para events grow and allow more students to be included in high school sport.

Congratulations to XC Runners!

Congratulations to all who participated in Cross Country Provincials this past Saturday in Cochrane, AB.

Staff Update

The Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association is very excited to welcome the newest staff member, Deanna Metro, to the team. Deanna will be stepping into the role of Assistant Director, and will be working as the provincial championship host liaison for the sports of Basketball, Football, Track and Field, Cheerleading and Golf. She will also be the lead for the ASAA Impact Leadership Training and the School Coach Education program.

2016 Volleyball Wildcard Allocations

According to policy Volleyball wildcards are allocated based on zones’ results at the previous three provincial championships, with the first place team getting 4 points, second place getting 3, third getting 4, and fourth getting 1. Based on results from 2013-15 the volleyball wildcard allocations are as follows:
